Whether you’re stopping by for a hearty breakfast, a sweet treat, or a thoughtful local gift, this spot offers an inviting ambiance that feels like a cozy morning haven.
The menu here is a tapestry of fresh, flavorful options that cater to a wide variety of tastes and dietary preferences. Standouts include their famously luscious Fruit Tart, praised for its perfectly balanced sweetness and crisp, buttery crust, as lauded by customer Arthur T, who couldn’t get enough of the tart’s texture and delicate cream. If you’re seeking savory satisfaction, their Huevos Rancheros and Traditional Eggs Benedict deliver bold, comforting flavors that elevate your typical breakfast fare.
For those favoring lighter or gluten-free options, the Wheat Free Pancakes are nothing short of cloud-like—fluffy, generous, and completely satisfying, as noted by Tash Jamieson. Pairing such indulgences with an unexpected yet refreshing Matcha Latte or the intriguingly fresh Matcha Lemonade offers a delicious balance of rich and revitalizing flavors, perfect for any hot California day.
The Farm Bakery Cafe also caters wonderfully to varied palates with dishes like the savory Santa Fe Pie, the wholesome and hearty Cobb Salad, or the inventive Eggplant Sandwich. If you’re in the mood for baked goods, their selection of muffins, from the classic Blueberry Muffin to the thoughtfully crafted Vegan Pumpkin Muffin and Wheat-Free Zucchini Muffin, offers diverse and rich textures that complement every mood.

Although parking can sometimes be a challenge on busy mornings, the effort rewards you with a leisurely, memorable meal in an inviting setting where the young, friendly staff ensure service with a warm smile and thoughtful touches, like beautifully wrapping your gifts at no extra cost.
While there are occasional moments to improve, such as the Farm Burger which some found less juicy and not quite up to par, the overwhelming consensus celebrates this cafe’s ability to dazzle with breakfast classics and divine pastries. The Fourth of July Fruit Tart and Key Lime Pie are perfect examples of their dessert mastery, signifying a commitment to quality and seasonal creativity.
In summary, The Farm Bakery Cafe & Gifts is a must-visit gem for anyone craving authentic, hearty breakfasts, flavorful baked goods, and a welcoming spot that feels like your neighborhood’s sweetest secret. It perfectly captures the essence of California comfort with a touch of artisanal flair, ensuring that every bite leaves you eager to return.
Sister brought a huge fruit tart from Farm Bakery Cafe a few months ago, so when I found out this was in Santa Cruz, this was a must on my to-visit place in person! The fruit tart is amazing here. Perfectly sweet fruits. Delicious crust and the right amount of cream. The fruit tart in general is not overly sweet and has the perfect amount of texture. Came by hoping we could pay per slice, but they didn't have that option. Instead, they have a fruit tartlet for $7 which is your own personal fruit tart! It is a perfect size, but it is so addicting, you might need more than one. Parking on site. Be careful there is a steep dip turning into the parking lot..so scraped a bit of my car. I did see other folks order non-dessert food and it looked quite good with large portions. Might just need to try the food out next time!
Lovely bakery / gift shop with a huge menu. The pancakes (which are gluten free!) were fluffy and portions are huge. I tried the matcha lemonade, which sceptical at first, was a refreshing drink on a hot day. Gift shop also has lots of lovely local wears. The young woman working the counter with the long brown hair was so nice and wrapped my gifts up beautifully (and at no extra cost!).
My review is for the Farm Burger. Two patties that were not exactly juicy and an extra $3.00 for one slice of bacon on it (which had an off flavor). Stick to the other sandwiches, there are better places for a burger.
Today on Sunday we had the pleasure of dining at The Farm Bakery, and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. I wholeheartedly give this restaurant a 5-star rating! They have good variety of food and desserts. It was crowded and No parking so we had to park little far and walk to the bakery.
Delicious breakfast with hearty portions. Loved the egg and cheese croissant with avocado and the fruit tart as well. This is definitely a place to come for breakfast often on weekends. First time here and i hope to return again next time i visit
We had such a perfect breakfast. The food was truly amazing, so we even got extra quiche for to-go. Love the outdoor heating seats. What are lovely atmosphere? Thanks.
We are visiting Aptos and was looking for a place to have breakfast. We were really pleased with the food. The food is a little pricey in this area but it’s worth it. The quality was amazing! We ordered the farmers breakfast, Florentine omelette, French toast, avocado toast, egg and cheese croissant. The potatoes were really good. Pick those over the hash browns. The hash browns need more seasoning.
Everything was perfect, helped us make a Mother's Day to remember. The cheese cake was rich and creamy but not too sweet. The carrot cake good but not great. The tarts were pretty to look at, sweet but not overly so and fresh with a touch of tartness. It was all about that cheese cake though. Looking forward to our next visit.
